It is done. As of Friday, October 24th 2008, Lovely Systems is an Aktiengesellschaft.*
Our new executive board members Jodok and Manfred will continue to steer the company’s fortunes. We are pleased to welcome our new supervisory board – Christian Lutz (chairman), Mag. Stephan Thurm and Dr. Reinhard Gaertner.
Christian Lutz (Chairman)
For innovation, our supervisory board chairman and team coach has an excellent intuition. Christian Lutz thought Web 2.0 as others were still waiting for Y2K: in 1999 he founded uboot.com and sms.at, two very successful communities. For more than 15 years he has worked successfully in the areas of Internet, media and telecommunications as operational manager and entrepreneur. Christian Lutz has extensive experience with innovation, strategy, startup building, VC funding and M&A/Exit know-how. Today he is CEO of his holding company uebermut.com with seven startup investments, as well as in various board positions at these companies. Since 2007 Christian Lutz studies in the Owner/President Management Program (OPM) at Harvard Business School, Boston.
Mag. Stephan Thurm
What it means, to lead an IT company successfully, Stephan Thurm knows exactly. From 1999 to 2004 he was CEO of Teleport Consulting & Systems GmbH – and thus a pioneer in the development and establishment of the Internet in Vorarlberg. In 2004, the Master of Business Administration, business data processing specialist and cross-media expert (he studied in Munich, Sydney and Vienna) became the sales and marketing executive of the “VM” Vorarlberger Medienhaus GmbH. Today he is in the management of the OVB Digital Media Center (Ippen Group) in Rosenheim, focusing on new Internet projects.
Dr. Reinhard Gaertner
Reinhard Gaertner is Head of Media & Entertainment TWG at Taylor Wessing in Germany. He advises companies in the media and IT industries in all major legal matters in connection with the operational business activity. These include in particular the areas of copyright, intellectual property and distribution rights. The Doctor of Laws is a member of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ) and the Association of Verlagsjustitiare. Reinhard Gaertner is a lecturer for “Media” at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich in the Department of Communication Studies and Media Research. He regularly holds seminars and lectures at conferences and written articles in legal journals.

The Semantic Web is the extension of the World Wide Web that enables people to share content beyond the boundaries of applications and websites. It has been described in rather different ways: as a utopic vision, as a web of data, or merely as a natural paradigm shift in our daily use of the Web. Most of all, the Semantic Web has inspired and engaged many people to create innovative semantic technologies and applications.
ISWC is the major conference where visionary and state-of-the-art research of all aspects of the Semantic Web are presented.
As you know, Lovely Systems is actively doing research and customer project in this area. Please meet Stefan Martin from our team there!
St. Martin – our chief mathematician – and Kienes – our man for HTML/CSS/JavaScript – will be at Facebook Developer Garage in Berlin.
We strongy believe that the combination of Google App Engine and Facebook is really powerful and look forward to implement the next Applications with our customers.
According to Gartner (found at http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=10441) these are the top 10 technologies to watch the next 3 years.
So how deals Lovely Systems with this?
#1 we’re virtualizing our Linux environment since August 13th, 2006 (see our Blog)
#2 our first production cloud server was launched at December 11th 2006 (see our Blog)
#3 sorry, i don’t believe in that :)
#4 well, forget Enterprise Java Beans, SOAP,…
we’re on more lightweight stuff. REST (Talk at Plone Conference in Seattle, 2006), JSON-RPC (this year)

We built the search and find portal www.a-z.ch for our new customer AZ Crossmedia AG.
Our challenge: we had to create a scalable search and find portal with google maps integration with multiple import sources for jobs, real estates, clubs and companies in a very short time-slot of about 3 month only.
