Reality Jockey
Are you working at the Lovely HQ or another open space office?
Do you like listening to music when working?
Are you sick of your colleagues (especially people like manfred) shouting at you when you have your headphones on?
Here is something for you.
I just added a page to download the RJ aka Reality Jockey application. The Lovely office is an open space office and we have a couple of people who are more productive when they are listening to music (bernd, armin, me, me, and me again) and we have others who are totally ineffective with music (jürgen, manfred, manfred and manfred again).
So we solved the problem. Using RJ you can now listen to your favorite music via your headphones and at the same time staying connected with the world around you.
Lovely people, get your headphones out now!

Benji and I had a lot of fun with this. :)
haha, this is brilliant! exactly what me in my colleague need in our shared office space…
lovely earme!
:-)
strange, it just doesn’t work on my imac.
I’m not able to start the program, it crashes every time…
hi mathias
what version of osx are you using and what imac are you working on?
it’s 10.4.10 and a intel 2ghz core duo.
i have the same problem with my macbook pro core2duo and 10.4.10

make sure the file is called RJ. Sometimes filenames get extensions when they are downloaded… e.g. when you have more than one copy of it on the download location (like RJ_2). RJ won’t work when the file does not have the same naming as the application.
i have the RJ.app in applications, when i start the app i can see the “splash-screen”. but after that the app doesn’t respond and i see the lovely mac-spinning-wheel.
it’s not working for me - it tells me to install support for objects from older versions of max (i’m using 4.5) - the RJ app starts but i am not able to choose input and output destinations. any idea?
i was wondering whether it’s stitll possible to hear from which direction people are calling you when using RJ.
hi flo
you don’t need to have max installed. its all on the max runtime…. so i guess your problem is that you installed an older (newer) version of max than the rj was compiled and you are trying to open the runtime in max… or someething like that.
That’s nice but somehow I couldn’t change the output to my USB headset, it wanted to stay on the default output..
Anyway, cool tool! :-)
for anyone who is asking “what means rj?”. here is the answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fxQFly1BQA
