05 Jun 2006 from breidenbruecker, postet in Web (2.0)

i met loic le meur in hubert burda’s digital lifestyle day 2005. he s a french entrepreneur and currently holding the position of executive VP & Managing Director of Europe, Six Apart… So basically, he knows a couple of things about blogging. I want to start the first entry on this blogely with two references to his blog.

First of all, it sort of looks like loic is trying to get a picture of the european blog market. he started to gather facts about the blogosphere in european countries. Although some info seems like a bit out of time, you will find interesting information in his article. But besides the information in the article, loic is using a very smart way how to gather information. he is facilitating the power of the blogging community by setting up a wiki in order to gather all the info. so if you have updated info about the blogosphere in europe, please edit loics wiki page.

On another interesting article, loic is gathering information about blogging and podcasting in general. Interesting stats, provided by feedburner and technorati point out the growth of the blogging and podcasting world.

yes of course… we know that the loads of blogs are beeing created but what is interesting is that according to loic -55% of bloggers are still posting 3 months after they created they blog …thats not bad, at least more than i thought….

…. and, it looks like podcasting / videocasting is growin into substantial numbers. If anyone knows about how many people really watch the casts please let me know. i mean not just subscribe, but actually watch the shows? If someone would come up with conventions to tag id3 tags of podcasts in a way that audioscrobbler or last.fm could recognize, we would be in a better position to forecast the real power of podcasting / videocasting ;-)
